In the classical Mar del Plata variation:

5. Nf3 O-O 6. Be2 e5 7. O-O Nc6 8. d5 Ne7

3 Critical Rules for King's Indian Players

1. Do Not Fear Losing Queenside Pawns: In the KID, Black regularly sacrifices a pawn or exchange on the queenside if it speeds up the mating assault on h2 or g2.
2. The Dark-Squared Bishop is Your Soul: Keep your g7-bishop alive. If White manages to trade light-squared and dark-squared bishops, Black's king shield can collapse.
3. Pawn Storm Precision: Push ...f4 to shut down White's e2-bishop, then roll the g-pawn to dislodge White's f3-knight.
