Understanding ChessOx Rating & Leaderboard Systems
ChessOx uses a dual-rating architecture to measure pure chess mastery and seasonal competitive achievement.
1. Permanent Elo Ratings
Every rated match dynamically adjusts your Glicko-2 Elo rating based on expected score and opponent strength. Winning against a higher-rated player yields maximum rating gains, while ratings are separated across Bullet (1 min), Blitz (3 & 5 min), Rapid, and Puzzle Tactics.
2. Geographic & District Filters
Leaderboards can be filtered globally, by nation, by state, and by local district. This allows players to track their standings within their local chess communities as well as on the worldwide stage.
